Friends Arena is an indoor arena with a retractable roof that allows concerts, sporting events and shows to be staged throughout the year, whatever the weather. This means that Sweden finally has an arena in which football can be played on real grass in the middle of winter and huge concerts featuring international artists can be staged throughout the year. The retractable roof consists of two sliding plates, each with an area of 3,750 m2, which is equivalent to six normal-sized villa gardens.
